At the August 19, 2025 Markland Woods COA Board Meeting, the board announced two changes to the House Rules.

Section B Item 8 has been deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following:

B. Association Baseline Rules and Guidelines.

8. Walking, cycling, scooter riding, and skateboarding are all permitted within Markland Woods on paved surfaces. No vehicles (including all listed above) are permitted to exceed the five (5) mile per hour speed limit within the complex. All residents are to use extreme caution. In accordance with RCS 46.61.261, RCW 46.61.755, RCW 46.61.235, and RCW 46.61.190, larger vehicles must yield to smaller vehicles and all roadway users are tasked with moving in a manner that does not create a hazard for any resident/roadway user.

Section E Item 3 has been deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following:

E. Critical Habitat Areas and Greenbelts.

3. Residents are required to stay on established paths in the wooded area between the upper and middle levels of the property (the trail behind H to the trash compactor and L building garbage corral). Pedestrian traffic only, no wheeled vehicles. No organic material except dog poop may be removed. All fallen branches must remain in the area.

Only the rules show here have been amended. All other rules remain in effect as stated in the Revised House Rules and Regulations version date 7/1/2024.

The Second Amended and Restated Markland Woods Declaration and Covenants, Conditions, Restrictions, and Reservations (the “CC&Rs”) and the revised Markland Woods COA Bylaws were ratified by a vote of the COA members in January 2024. Both documents are available at the Governing Documents link below and are effective immediately.

The Markland Woods House Rules were revised and adopted by the Board at the June 18, 2024 open board meeting and are effective as of July 1, 2024. Copies are available at the Governing Documents link.
