FAQs

One of the first things you’ll notice about Markland Woods Condominiums is that we have multiple parking options available. Here are some fast facts for you, the most important fact first:

For 157 units on the property we have 327 parking spots.

  1. Parking is assigned by unit number. When you purchase or rent a unit, the parking spots allocated to that unit will be listed in the paperwork, and in the copy of the Declaration you are provided.

  2. There is open parking, carport parking, and garage parking available, but not for every unit. Some units have open parking spots only, or carport only, or some combination of garage, open, and carport spots.

  3. The numbered parking spots are Limited Common Elements that are legally tied to specific units as part of the Declaration.

Just about 30 of those 327 spots are designated as visitor or handicapped parking only.

This means not every unit has been allocated two parking spots.

Over the years, the Markland Woods Condominium Owners Association Board of Directors has tried numerous methods for trying to control the overuse of visitor parking by full-time residents whose unit has insufficient allocated spaces for the number of cars they own.

Remember, visitors and vendors need to be able to park here as well, so residents with more cars than spots are asked to follow one of the following procedures:

  1. Rent a space from another owner who has a parking spot available.

It may not be conveniently located but it will mean your car will not be in danger of being towed.

  2. Park on the street to the north of the property and access the property via the trail in the greenbelt behind buildings H through K.
